Equateur Fruits is a trading and brokerage company for processed fruit for the food industry, marketing high-end, often frozen products, specializing in exotic fruits and as well offering a very wide range of citrus fruits, temperate fruits and red fruits, most of which are professionals in the field of taste, but also juice and flavors manufacturers.

Our products are 100% natural, without additives and as close as possible to fresh

fruit and sold in the form of pure fruit juice, fruit purée, fruit concentrate, fruit pieces, etc. Products are available as Conventional, Organic, Fairtrade and Demeter Certified.

LOGISTICS

Equateur Fruits takes care of all import logistics formalities, in compliance with current legislation. We organize customs clearance, palletization and delivery to your destination. If you wish, in large or small quantities: we can deliver from pallets to full trucks.

Via two warehouses in Holland and two others in France, and depending on the delivery address, all our containers are unloaded at the port of Rotterdam or Fos-sur-Mer, where Equateur Fruits can store your order for as long as you wish, in controlled or ambient temperature: your fruit will keep its bright colors. By no means, we store the raw material in the country of origin.

As a proactive partner, Equateur Fruits works with you to manage and plan your just-in-time replenishments, and if a crisis exists or is expected on one of our products (natural disaster, drought or other), we report back to you on the development of the situation while redirecting our demand to another supplier located outside the crisis zone.

WE CONTROL

Equateur Fruits scrupulously respects your quality specifications, thanks to a sampling system. All our products are subject to pre-market quality control, in laboratories on site and in certified independent laboratories. In each of the factories we work with, an integrated laboratory checks the veracity of the quality of the materials, and all our suppliers send samples to certified and accredited external laboratories that measure pesticide levels, verify traceability, and organoleptic and physical qualities.

OUR QUALITY GUARANTEES

Equateur Fruits is certified ECOCERT ®. Created in 1991, present worldwide, ECOCERT ® is the French specialist in the certification of products from organic farming *.
ECOCERT ® contributed to the development of organic farming in the 1990’s by participating in the drafting of French and European regulations and is still very involved in the promotion of organic farming, and today is committed in French and international institutions to support the development of projects, making it a reference in organic certification throughout the world.

OUR ETHICAL GUARANTEES

We are brokers for fair trade fruits, some of our producers are International Fairtrade Certified ®, every year we audit each of our suppliers to check :
1/ that no children work on the production line
2/ that the minimum wage received by workers complies with the legislation in force in the country, and our premium positioning allows us not to require our producers to pay lower prices.
On the other hand, we are demanding about the working conditions of their employees.

YOU EVALUATE

To meet your quality requirements, we help you sample, analyze and approve the processed fruit before the contract. The batch sent by container will be identical to the sample, and this sample will be kept as a reference at the producer. Present each year at four key trade fairs, we meet our producers along with our customers present at the trade fairs. In addition to the direct feedback on the year’s crops, our customers can evaluate the producers on three criteria viz. quality and product compliance, satisfaction and quality of response to a demand and traceability of products through the documents provided.

Some of our products are certified DEMETER ®.

Created in 1954, but practiced since 1924, DEMETER ® is the international certification brand for biodynamic agricultural products, * In France, its most famous representative is Pierre Rabhi.

(1) We are present at SIAL, the International Food Exhibition (Paris, Villepinte), Anuga- the world’s leading trade fair for the food sector (Cologne), BIOFACH, a trade fair dedicated to organic agriculture (Nuremberg) and SIRHA, a world meeting for the hotel, restaurant, catering and catering industries (Lyon).

(2) * Organic agriculture avoids the use of chemical fertilizers and synthetic products: the land is fertilized by organic fertilizers and natural minerals that promote soil life. Precautionary principle is also applied.

(3) * Biodynamics promotes greater soil biodiversity and strengthens plant health integrating the principles of organic farming. But its specifications are much stricter, and DEMETER ® guarantees respect for biodynamic practices on agricultural estates, as well as respect for the quality of these products during their processing.

ÉQUATEUR FRUITS ?

It is the name of our company, and it defines us for two reasons: the region, first of all. On a global scale, Equateur is a great agro-climatic region in terms of fruits supply and sourcing. We have forged bonds of trust and friendship with certain producers, and then the geographical symbol. The equator is the imaginary line that runs around the Earth, the largest terrestrial circle, which separates the northern and southern hemispheres. Like the equator, we are the interface between producers and customers, but also between identities, legislations and diverse commercial practices. Like the equator, we do not deviate from the line we have set ourselves: seriousness, quality and punctuality.

HISTORICAL

Equateur Fruits was founded in 2004, Farida Benraba joined the company in 2007 and has already had 12 years of experience in the trade of processed fruits.
Over the next ten years Equateur Fruits has experienced a strong growth. Today, together her employees, Farida Benraba leads a company that is entering a new era.

LOCATION

Equateur Fruits is based in Marseille, the second largest French city and biggest French port. The Grand Port Maritime de Marseille is the second largest port in the Mediterranean and the fifth largest in Europe, a port city founded 2600 years ago with many strategic assets: a cosmopolitan, Mediterranean city, gateway to Africa and the Middle East, Marseille is also the headquarters of the world’s third largest shipowner and the leading French maritime freight company, CMA-CGM.
